Rock
Run is a unique Northcentral Pennsylvania mountain stream. As it flows
west toward the small village of Ralston, it carves out a deep gorge
relative to its small size. It is characterized by numerous waterfalls,
deep pools, and various unique rock formations in its streambed. You can
find a number of places where the water carved out what I like to call
"hot tub pools", as shown in the picture on the right, along
with water slide-like troughs.
Rock
Run also has some interesting waterfalls on its tributaries like this one
on Miners Run.
My
mother-in-law, Nancy, was along with us that day. She has an incessant
fear of cliffs, so like a good son-in-law, I was just trying to help her
get over some of those fears... Well, maybe I was helping her to just
"get over" this cliff!
